Sydney - Jervis Bay - Mallacoota - Lakes Entrance - Wilsons Promotory - Philip Island - Melbourne
Day 01 - Sydney to Jervis Bay
Hit the road to the bustling coastal city of Wollongong. Continue on to beautiful Kiama where the famous Blowhole awaits. Follow the coastline through lush rolling hills to Gerringong and Gerroa, perched on the cliffs above the ocean, overlooking Seven Mile Beach. Follow the tourist drive alongside the Crookhaven River, stopping at Coolangatta Estate to pick up some award-winning wines. Buy supplies in Nowra before taking the turnoff to Jervis Bay in time for a late afternoon swim or surf. Stay two nights.
Day 02 - Jervis Bay - Humpback Whales and Dolphins
Today, experience some of the best whale watching in New South Whales (May-Nov). The sheltered waters of Jervis Bay provide a much needed rest for the calves on their long journey home, making the waters a great place for viewing them in their natural habitat. If you are visiting in the summer season, you will see the pod of resident dolphins that call Jervis Bay home. With over 80 dolphins, there is always something to see, year round.
Day 03 - Jervis Bay to Mallacoota
Travel south stopping for lunch at Ulladulla Harbor where you can enjoy take away fish and chips, sitting on the dock of the bay. Further on visit the well preserved villages of Central Tilba and Tilba Tilba, where you can shop for high quality local arts and crafts, food and wine. Visit the Eden Killer Whale Museum then continue on across the border into Victoria, to Mallacoota and Gipsy Point. Overnight.
Day 04 - Mallacoota to Lakes Entrance
Enjoy the drive from Mallacoota down to Lakes Entrance. For lunch you will be cruising past the Entrance to the Wyanga Park Winery where you will enjoy a wine tasting and a delicious lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring in the beautiful Lakes Entrance region. Have a go at one of the many water sports on offer or try some of the fresh local seafood for dinner. Overnight.
Day 05 - Lakes Entrance to Wilsons Promotory
You will be spending today at Wilsons Promontory National Park, home to great scenery and abundant wildlife. The southernmost point of the Australian mainland, Wilsons Promontory is arguably the most loved national park in Victoria. Tidal River, 30 km inside the park boundary, is the focus for tourism and recreation. Follow one of the many walking tracks through eucalypt forests and wildflowers to secluded coves, white sand beaches and granite mountains. Overnight.
Day 06 - Wilsons Promotory to Philip Island
Cross the bridge onto Phillip Island, a popular family holiday destination. Visit the famous Grand Prix circuit, solve puzzles at A Maze ‘N Things or experience early pioneer life on Churchill Island, a working heritage farm. See koalas and Australia’s second largest fur seal colony at The Nobbies Centre.
Tonight, don't miss the world famous daily dusk parade of little penguins as they parade up the beach. Each night at sunset, the world’s smallest penguins, the Little Penguins, emerge from the sea and waddle ashore to their sand dune burrows. This is a truly memorable natural wildlife experience. The elevated boardwalks and viewing stands allow you to enjoy all the ‘penguin action’ without disturbing them or their burrow homes. Overnight on Phillip Island.
Day 07 - Philip Island to Melbourne
Your holiday ends in the city of Melbourne. Enjoy your day with a scenic flight over Melbourne City in a hot air balloon! See the beautiful sights of the Dandedongs, Port Phillip Bay and Melbourne’s surrounds. Depart Melbourne. (140km, 1 hours 50 minutes)
